The Central West HOG Chapter is one of a large number of chapters throughout the world for those who own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. We are a family oriented Chapter and encourage family members along on our day and overnight runs.

Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group in 1983 to reinforce the strong loyalty amongst its family of Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders. Since then, HOG chapters have been established throughout the world and the current membership is around 500,000. Each country has a national rally and each state holds an annual rally for HOG members only. To be a full member of a HOG chapter you must own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

An authorised Harley-Davidson dealer must sponsor a chapter and the Central West Chapter is proud to be sponsored by Capital Harley-Davidson.

The purpose of a chapter is to promote responsible motorcycling activities for HOG members by conducting chapter activities and encouraging participation in the HOG events such as the National and State rallies.

Chapters are non-profit organisations and conduct legitimate fund-raising activities for charitable purposes. The Central West chapter supports the Ronald McDonald House Project in Orange. We raise money by running special events such as an Easter or Christmas BBQ or by holding raffles through the year.

Chapters are run in accordance with HOG International operating policies. All HOG Chapters have similar official activities and events throughout the year. Chapters have officer positions for running the chapter and the top position is the Director.

We usually have fortnightly rides (sometimes more often) and these are organised by a Road Captain. The Road Captain is the leader of the participating group . The other riders must ride behind him and ride in the staggered formation position and obey all the road rules.

The chapter has near to 70 members and a large group of very active members participate in our organised runs. We encourage safe riding skills and organise advanced rider skills courses annually.

Our Road Captains are encouraged to complete a First Aid Certificate. Currently all Road Captains are qualified in at least the basics of first aid.
